The PPP project of GTZ in Vietnam on organic pangasius (cat fish) production in An Giang with Binca Seafood, Naturland and local producers (Lam Son) has been successfully implemented and had significant impacts in different aspects.

Firstly it created a market for organic pangasius that is growing nicely, step by step. This conclusion is drawn based on the growing number of organic fish produced each season, and the increased number of buyers that express their interest in buying organic product from Vietnam.

Secondly , farmers are making a better margin with the organic product. They earn 15% more than in the conventional market. Additionally, their outputs are secured by the buyers in this buyer-driven value chain. More and more farmers and processors in the neighboring areas come to learn from the organic niche market success

Thirdly, the organic pangasius value chain is now expanding to incorporate local organic agricultural products into the feed supply chain. This tackles a critical point, as one of the weak points within the organic pangasius value chain identified during the project implementation was the feed which so far is mostly being imported from neighboring countries like China and Cambodia .

Dự án PPP của GTZ nhằm triển khai nuôi cá tra sạch tại An Giang với sự cộng tác của Binca Seafood, Naturland và các trại cá (Lam Son) đã thực hiện thành công và đồng thời cũng nêu được 3 khía cạnh cụ thể như sau:

- Dựa án tạo ra một thị trường cá sạch đang dần lớn mạnh từng bước một qua số lượng cá sản xuất mỗi năm mỗi tăng và khách mua hàng ngày càng quan tâm đến sản phẩm cá sạch của Việt Nam

- Với sản phẩm cá sạch, lãi xuất của người nuôi trồng tăng thêm 15% so với cách nuôi truyền thống. Bên cạnh đó sản phẩm được bao tiêu trọn gói bởi khách hàng. Ngày càng nhiều nông dân và các nhà sản xuất quanh vùng đến tham quan và học hỏi cách thức nuôi trồng.

- Chuỗi cá sạch hiện nay đang tích hợp các sản phẩm nông nghiệp sạch quanh vùng vào chuỗi thực phẩm sạch cho cá. Đây là mộy điểm quan trọng trong quá trình nuôi cá sạch, vì cho đến nay thực phẩm sạch phần nhiều được nhập từ các nước như Campuchia và Trung Quốc!
